In the 1790s, a structure known as the Admiralty was built specially in the park to accommodate sailboats and other vessels. Later, an oval-shaped pond was dug out in front of it for the naval fleet. Boats passed through a narrow canal into the White Lake, which in the time of Pavel Petrovich was a scene of numerous battles involving the eight-gun yacht “Mirolyub” and the frigate “Imprenable” (French word for impregnable), equipped with 16 guns. In the late 19th century, the Admiralty was used to store naval weapons and boats. The structure is currently undergoing reconstruction to restore it to its original condition.
